Family Loss is Heavens Gain....

After a long, hard battle with cancer, Joyce Shanklin went to be with the Lord last week. Funeral services for "Nahnah" were held Monday in Graham, as both the Speers and Shanklin families embraced each other and recalled all the great things about her life. She was the sister of Jack Speers, who died in 2004 at 82 years of age. Joyce lived for 81 years and was the "cowboy" wife of our great Uncle Bill!
We will all miss her greatly. Thanks for who you were and all you did, Joyce.
Tell Pawpaw and Grandma Speers we said hi and give Papa Jack a hug for us all. We will see you soon!

Wrotens/Speers Ready for Christmas 2005

Christmas 2005 is just a few days from now and both families are ready and plans are made.

Julie and Brady will have Christmas with his immediately family as usual on December 23rd starting with diner at Monterry's Mexican Cafe in Grand Prairie, followed by present time at mom and dad's.

The Speers will host their traditional "progressive dinner" Christmas Eve, starting around 5pm. It will travel to Janet and Craig's home first, then over to Brady and Julie's place and finally to Grandma Kat's for a great time of exchanging gifts. Who knows what might take place...

The Wrotens have all events planned for Christmas Day in Tyler. First is lunch at Sarah's new home, followed by present time and then family time over at Delores' home with Papa Jack's side of the family. I am sure a fun movie will top the evening!

Merry Christmas everyone!
